The Garrett Axiom 16 x 14 in DD-FC search coil is the largest coil in the Axiom lineup, built to sweep more ground per pass and reach deeper targets on the Garrett Axiom pulse induction gold detector. The Double-D winding and centralized Focused Core hold detection depth over highly mineralized soil, where a mono coil of the same size starts to lose performance.

DD-FC is the coil family that lets the Axiom run Iron Check, so you get a tone based read on iron and cleaner target separation while you swing. The wide 16 x 14 in footprint trades some maneuverability for coverage and depth, which makes it the coil to reach for on open ground, tailing piles and deep nugget patches.

The coil is fully waterproof and ships with a snap on cover that protects the bottom from rock and abrasion. It fits the Garrett Axiom and carries Garrett's 3 year limited warranty.

What's Included:

  • Garrett Axiom 16 x 14 in DD-FC search coil
  • Snap on coil cover

Features

Focused Core for Mineralized Ground
The centralized Focused Core concentrates the detection field so the 16 x 14 in DD-FC holds depth and stays stable in hot, mineralized soil. It recovers performance that a plain mono coil gives up over heavy ground.

Wide Coverage and Reach
At 16 x 14 in this is the largest Axiom coil, covering more ground on every sweep and pushing depth on larger or deeper targets. It is the coil for working open washes and ground you want to clear quickly.

Iron Check Tone ID
Because it is a DD-FC coil, it enables the Axiom Iron Check feature for a tone based read on iron. That lets you flag ferrous trash before you dig, which mono coils cannot do.

Waterproof and Built for the Garrett Axiom
The coil is fully waterproof and submersible for wet ground, creek edges and shallow water. It is designed for the Garrett Axiom and connects straight to the detector with no adapter.

FAQ

Q: Which detector does the 16 x 14 in DD-FC coil fit?
A: It is built for the Garrett Axiom pulse induction gold detector and plugs straight into the detector with no adapter.

Q: What is the difference between a DD-FC and a Mono coil?
A: A DD-FC coil uses a Focused Core to hold depth in mineralized ground, separates targets well and supports the Axiom Iron Check tone ID. A Mono coil goes for maximum depth and small gold sensitivity but gives no iron ID.

Q: Why choose the 16 x 14 in size?
A: It is the largest Axiom coil, so it covers more ground per sweep and reaches deeper targets. Smaller coils give more sensitivity to tiny gold and better handling in tight spots.

Q: Is the coil waterproof?
A: Yes. The coil is fully waterproof and submersible. The Axiom control housing is not submersible, so keep the control box dry.

Q: Does it come with a coil cover?
A: Yes. A snap on coil cover is included to protect the bottom of the coil from rock and abrasion.
