The Garrett Vortex 14 inch by 11 inch DD Reaper is the large format search coil for the Garrett Vortex series. Its wide footprint covers about 25% more ground per sweep than the stock 8.5 inch by 11 inch coil and reaches deeper, so it suits open fields, pastures, plowed ground and long beach swings where you want to clear ground fast and chase deep targets.
The Reaper uses a DD configuration, which lays down a clean, repeatable detection pattern and gives strong target separation even in mineralized soil. It carries the Vortex waterproof connector and the whole coil can be submerged, so you can work the edge of a lake, a stream or the surf without swapping hardware.
The Reaper fits the Vortex VX5, VX7 and VX9. Because Vortex coils use a unique waterproof connector, they are not compatible with other Garrett detectors. It ships with a snap on coil cover and is backed by Garrett's 3 year limited warranty.
