The Garrett Vortex VX9 is the top model in Garrett's waterproof Vortex series, a multi-frequency detector built for coin, relic, jewelry and beach hunters who want the full feature set. It pairs Garrett's MD-MF multi-frequency technology with seven frequency options and a three-tier target ID display, and the whole detector is submersible to 16 feet (5 meters) so you can work dry land, the surf and shallow water with one machine.

In multi-frequency the VX9 runs the traditional Multi mode for general hunting or Multi-Salt for wet salt sand and surf. You can also lock onto a single frequency of 5, 9, 13, 18 or 25 kHz to favor a target type. Seven search modes cover the field, including Thin Coins for hammered silver and thin gold, Fast for trashy and competition sites, Beach for salt conditions plus Zero Discrimination, Standard, USA Coins and Custom. Seven Frequency Options

When operating in multi-frequency, the VX9 displays a non-ferrous scale and two ferrous scales. Complex targets can read on more than one scale at once, so you get more information before you dig.
